Scholarship Description: Established by colleagues and former students in honor of Dr. Delbert Shankel, Emeritus Professor in Molecular Biosciences, who taught Microbiology for 37 years at KU. He also served the University in many capacities, from Department Chair to Chancellor, Athletic Director to Dean of the College. In 1995, he was named 15th Chancellor of the University of Kansas.
